BARAKAH : HOW THE COMPANIONS SOUGHT BLESSINGS FROM THE PROPHET & HIS RELICS

On numerous occasions in the Qur’an, Allah (The Exalted) has highlighted how the Qur’an itself, people, places, water and other objects can be blessed. Of course, the blessed nature of the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) is beyond dispute for Muslims. Therefore it is unsuprising that the companions lived their lives seeking the blessings of his person (May Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him). This short treatise by Sa’id ‘Abdul-Qadir Ibn Salim Bashanfar collects many instances of how the companions would seek barakah, or blessings, from the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) and his relics.
