The Literary Structure of The Quranic Verse

This outstanding work has treated the Quranic verse, or ayah as an independent unit. Its semantic relationship through parallelism and pausal phrase is discussed. Stylistic effects are traced based on varying structure, emphasis, word order, conciseness, use of pronouns and tenses. Many related aspects of rhetoric presented by classical muslim scholarship is critically analysed. The profound structure of the Quranic verse is thus established.
