'Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri was a towering figure in Islamic scholarship, recognised as an authority by scholars across the world.

This book provides a historical background of the Islamic activities that prevailed before and during Imam Kashmiri's time; analyzes his works and provides a critical assesment of his contributions to the fields of Qur'anic and Hadith sciences, Islamic Jurisprudence and Imam Kashmiri's unique stance and personal opinion on several major academic issues. The author, Shaykh Yunoos Osman, is a graduate of Dar al-'Ulum Karachi, having studied under the tutelage of Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani. He taught at at Dar al-'Ulum Newcastle (South Africa) for 12 years. During that time he also completed B.A and B.A (Hons) degrees (majoring in Arabic and Science of Religion) at the University of South Africa. In 1994, he was awarded an M.A degree in Islamic studies from the University of Durban-Westville. In 2002, he graduated with a D.Phil degree in Islamic studies at the same University. He denys to serve on various Islamic Trust Boards of a number of Muslim organisation and Islamic seminaries within South Africa. He is also an author of many articles and books.
