The work is the compilation of Ahaadeeth regarding the death and the hereafter.

Maulana Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya, a prominent and well known scholar, after being impressed by 2 Arabic poems Darse Ibrat and Muraaqabah-e-Maut (written by one of his beloved teachers Khwaja Aziz al-Hasan,) compiled this book in Urdu entitled 'maut ki yaad' in order to make muslims remember death.
