Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madni (1879-1957) was an Islamic scholar of international repute and a stalwart of India's freedom struggle.
As an anti-imperialist crusader he spent long years in British jails between 1914 and 1947.
After independance he devoted himself to help the Muslims face and adjust to the trials and tribulations to which partition confronted them. Relinquishing political activity he devoted himself in the years of independence entirely to Darul Uloom, Deoband, his Ulmameter and instilling confidence in the Muslim community of free India.
