Book One:

Allamah Suyuti had compiled hadiths (Prophetic traditions) which guide us to increase provisions and repel poverty. Shaykh Ibn Abi Dunya had compiled prayers to remove calamities and unforeseen events. Both of these books are introduced by Mufti Muhammad Shafi' (Late Grand Mufti of Pakistan) and have been translated into English in this book.

Book Two:

A translation of a book by the contemporary Scholar Shaykh Yusuf  al-Qaradawi. In the book he discusses various aspects of poverty and shows how different religions and ideologies deal with it. He shows how Islam hopes to eradicate poverty and speaks on the dignity of labour and the position of begging in relation to it.

The merit of contentment is emphasised and the place of charity in society is described.

The author also mentions how the Companions and other eminent religious men tackled this problem.
